The Proposal Part 2

The PROPOSALn Part2

It was another boring day. There was absolutely nothing to do. I sat on my favourite sofa and wondered, “Ever since I rejected his proposal, he has not taken the initiative to come and find me. What a jerk!”

Just then, I heard loud honking outside my house. “Bor,Bor!” The noise was deafening! I thought to myself, “Who is the one honking away?” I went to the window and stared out of it. When I saw what was outside the window, I stood rooted to the ground and deep in my heart, I was smiling. Smiling from ear to ear. “Hmpf, you are finally back here to win my heart back. And with my favourite CAR- the Lamborgini Gallardo! It must be for me!” I thought.

Edmond stood by the car, with his hands on his hips, smiling triumphantly. (explain triumphantly) He must be smiling so victoriously because he knew I was going to say YES.

He greeted me and then went into his car to ‘unveil’ the cabriolet (car in which the roof can be opened). To my deepest horror, there was a woman in the car, a woman more attractive than me. She was flamboyant and gorgeous. Instantly, I felt a sense of jealousy. Deep in my heart, I wondered, “How could he do this to me?” I stared out at him, wondering what I had done wrong.

At that moment, I could no longer take it. I blasted at him, “Why are you doing this to me?!” He replied in a cool manner, “Well… You were the one who thought I was not good enough for you in the first place!”

The bickering continued…

The "Proposal" Part 1

This is the text I read in class.

The Proposal Part 1

I finally made the most important decision in my life. I decided to marry Jane. She was the most wonderful woman a man could ever have. She was sitting on the couch one rainy day. I braved myself, gathered all my courage and went down on my knees. My heart was beating at about 120 beats per minute. I though to myself, “This is the only chance!”

With trembling hands, I asked, “Will you marry me Jane?” Jane looked away. My heart sank when she reacted that way. “Why?” I thought to myself. Why was she so cold? She should be touched. This was not the reaction I had expected.

I had expected that Jane might not agree to my proposal, so I came well prepared. I hastily took out a sparking diamond from my pocket and asked for the second time, “Jane, will you marry me? This diamond ring is to show my sincerity.” She was unmoved.

Next, I took out a bigger box, this time, with a diamond necklace. Those rocks caused me my one year’s salary. She continued to ignore me. I did not give up. I ran off to bring an even bigger box. This time round, she turned to give me a cold look. I opened the box and appearing in front of her was a wedding gown, embroidered with sequins and diamantes.

She was unfazed.

I gave up. My attempt failed, failed terribly. Why did she not accept me? I was depressed, and the question of why Jane did not accept my proposal lingered in my heads. "Why? Why? Why?" I asked myself.

The next morning….

I appeared in front of Jane’s house with a brand new car. The car which she had always wanted. She stood by the window, her eyes lit up.

This bigger present… the biggest of it all… was not meant to be hers. Inside the car sits my new found love. The new love of my life.
