My favourite film or TV

Write about your favourite film or television programme and why you like it.

I used to be a avid movie-goer when I was still studying. But 24 hours is never enough once you start working. So,the time I spend watching movies and TV has reduced drastically. But, I loved (and still love) to watch Amazing Race (the one where contestants race around the world to cross hurdles and obstacles). The one reason why I love it is because it brings me all around the world! As a Geography teacher, I might not have travelled to so many places, but watching the show will bring the world to me! It sure beats reading encylopedia and textbooks about countries about the world! At least the images they show should be quite real. I get to learn about the level of development of these countries and the kinds of languages they speak.

Hmm...since I have not earned anough money to travel round the world,I suppose Amazing Race will continue to be my "eyes" to the world!

The subject I loathe

Well... I promise 2E3 that I will set a good example and post my entries as a writing journal. So here is my first attempt.

Topic: Write about the school subject you hate most. Explain why you loathe it.

Recalling the days when I was a secondary school student, I suppose the subject I hated most would be Mathematics. I was never inclined towards Maths since Secondary One and I didn't really know why. I suppose it was because I generally have no liking for numbers, except when it comes to money? To me, Mathematics is like studying irrelevant things, I used to question my friends how would learning about algebra and factorisation help me in the future? And because I did not see the relevance of Mathematics in my life, I think I gradually lost interest in it.

However, in hindsight(meaning: looking back), I think Mathematics has taught me to be analytical. Mathematics has relevance in my life because it trains us to be analytical when it comes to problem-solving. For those of you who are not interested in Mathematics, do remember that Miss Yeo used to hate Maths (I even failed Maths in Sec Two!!) but after I saw the relevance of Mathematics in my life, I began to see some value in it and worked (super) hard to pass it at O Levels and A Levels!

Any of you students out there who do not like Maths? Any comments?

Boys and girls of 2E3,
Dongli requested that I post the topics here because he has lost the paper. Please go ahead and write about other topics you feel strongly about. I will not insist that you only write about the topics here. If there is any issue you want us to know, feel free to write it too.
