First meeting with 2E3

I had the chance to observe Mdm Kavitha's class, 2E3, yesterday. Just to share my feelings about the class. I really think that this class has a nice mix of everything. They have the vocal students and the more studious ones. There are students from many different countries. This is the main difference between my secondary school days and today- there are so many more foreigners compared to my school days! I think I could try to tap on their varying experiences to make EL lessons more interesting! (Eg. Getting them to share their experiences back home)

I gave them a survey to do in bid to understand them better and provided them a chance to give me their idea of an 'ideal' EL lesson. They were so candid (frank) in their replies and I really love the way they open up their hearts and minds to a new teacher like me! Really look forward to teaching them in the coming term. Meanwhile, I would have to prepare 'interesting' lessons for them. (Students of 2E3, do give me feedback if you have any suggestions on my lessons. You can make your comments here!)

First week at BPS

This marks the end of my first week at BPS. It has been a fruitful week and I have learnt a lot about the kids here at BPS and teaching in a school...I have asked the class which I am taking over to create their own blogs for our English lessons. The main objective of this is to create an environment where students are receptive to writing and expressing themselves. In addition, blogging allows me to know the students better so that I can genuinely help them with their learning.
